About the Open Electricity Market

On 21st September 2018, Energy Market Authority announced the Open Electricity Market initiative. This means that from November 2018, about 1.4 million electricity consumers in Singapore will have the option of choosing their preferred electricity price plans from as many as 12 authorised retailers. THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT OPEN ELECTRICITY MARKET

With the open electricity market, you can:
- Continue buying electricity from SP Group at the regulated tariff; or
- Switch to buying electricity from a retailer
You do not have to switch to a retailer. You can continue to buy electricity from SP Group.
Switching to a retailer is easy. Select your preferred price plan and your retailer will work directly with SP Group to perform the switch for you.
You will receive the same reliable electricity supply, no matter who you choose to buy electricity from. SP Group will continue to operate the national power grid and deliver electricity to everyone.
You will continue to be eligible for U-Save rebates even if you switch to a retailer.
